I firmly believe that it is a fundamental right for two consenting adults to be able to live their lives together in marriage.

The recent Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage will be looked back on as a great moment in the fight for equality in the LGBTQ+ community. With that said, we have a lot of work to do. States still discriminate with nuanced legislation that disenfranchises LGBTQ+ individuals. For instance, workplace discrimination is still widespread. No individual should be denied the ability to work on the basis of their gender identity and/or sexuality. We must also fight harder against hate crimes. It is abhorrent to even think that individuals are being assaulted or worse simply for their gender identity or sexuality.
